On Jan. 18th, 2025, at the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Va. The alumni showed up and were recognized for their contributions. There were 1,749 people in attendance. The Lady Monarchs home court advantage didn't get them a victory. DeLisha Milton-Jones said, “We gave up a game that we clearly should have won.”

The Bobcats penetrated the basket aggressively and scored 38 points in the paint. The Monarchs couldn't find their rhythm and started slow. Texas State and Old Dominion missed open shots early in the game.

The Lady Monarchs shot 34.5 percent from the field and 15.8 percent from the three-point. Early in the game, Simaru Fields scored the first bucket assisted by Simone Cunningham. Simaru Fields finished the game with two points. The Monarch's largest lead was 19 points.

The Texas State Bobcats shot 42.9 percent from the field and 25 percent from the three-point. Saniya Burks ended the first quarter with a long-range buzzer-beater, the three-pointer gave the Bobcats the lead going into the second quarter.

Both teams applied pressure on defense and offense. DeLisha called the press before Zenarae. When the Bobcats were losing, Zenarae Antoine switched to a full-court press to climb back into the game. Zenarae coached the Bobcats to victory, and they played their game by hitting timely three-pointers, driving to the basket, and playing good defense.

In the first quarter, the Bobcats led the Monarchs by four points. The Monarchs outscored the Bobcats by 14 points in the second quarter, and the third quarter ended in a tie, but in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats outscored the Monarchs by 10 points. DeLisha wanted the Lady Monarchs to return to the basics during the game, as they had too many mistakes in their performance. Listen to the full play-by-play for ODU vs. TXST here.
